Harvey’s Brewery Breathes New Life into Historic Newhaven Pub

Harvey’s Brewery has launched a major 14-week makeover at The Bridge Inn, the beloved old pub at Newhaven’s heart. Bought in 2013, the pub is central to Harvey’s mission to boost local community spirit with top-notch hospitality.

Revamping a Georgian Gem with a Royal Past

The Bridge Inn isn’t just any pub—it’s a living slice of Newhaven’s history, dating back to the 18th century. This Georgian building famously sheltered King Louis Philippe of France and Queen Marie Amelie as they fled the French Revolution. The refurbishment will preserve this heritage while adding modern touches and comforts.

Local Legacy Meets Fresh Hospitality

“We are eager to reinvent The Bridge Inn, ensuring it continues to be a hub of community and warmth in Newhaven,” said Stevie Riggs, Estate Coordinator at Harvey’s Brewery.

The revamp aims to respect the pub’s historic charm while ushering in a new era of hospitality and community connection for Newhaven locals and visitors alike.
