Teen Stabbed in Shocking Dorset Attack
At 7.11pm on Wednesday 22 February 2023, Dorset Police rushed to Mandale Road following reports of a stabbing.
14-Year-Old Boy in Critical Condition
Officers, backed by armed response units, found the victim – a 14-year-old local boy – nearby on Gladdis Road. He had suffered a single stab wound and was quickly taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition. His family has been informed.
13-Year-Old Arrested Over Attempted Murder
A 13-year-old boy from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Police have cordoned off scenes on both Gladdis Road and Mandale Road for a forensic examination. Bournemouth CID is leading the intensive investigation.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detective Inspector Katie Starkie said: “We are appealing to anyone who saw what happened or has any information to get in touch. I am especially keen to speak to two men in a pick-up truck who flagged down officers at the scene. We believe they turned right into Turbary Park Road.”
“We understand this will alarm the community. Residents can expect an increased police presence in the area in the coming days, with house-to-house inquiries and CCTV checks ongoing. Our neighbourhood policing team will be on hand to address concerns.”
