Authorities are appealing to the public for information following a tragic incident in Burrows Playing Field, Leckhampton, during the Easter weekend. A man riding his bicycle struck and killed a dog, leaving the community in shock.

At approximately 10:45. on Saturday, March 30, an elderly woman was walking her Chihuahua off-leash on the grassy path. The peaceful morning took a devastating turn when a cyclist approached. Witnesses report a brief exchange between the cyclist and the woman before tragedy struck—the bike collided with the small dog, resulting in its immediate demise.

The unidentified cyclist is described as having a heavy build and was wearing a black cycle helmet. He was riding a compact bicycle at the time of the incident. Investigating officers are eager to speak with a woman who witnessed the collision and subsequently spoke with the distraught dog owner. Her account may prove crucial to the ongoing investigation.
