A pair of dedicated officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary have been nominated for the prestigious National Police Bravery Awards 2024 for their remarkable courage and exemplary decision-making during a harrowing encounter with a knife-wielding man on a rooftop.
On the evening of 16 March 2023, PC James Taylor, dedicated to his investigation into a dangerous drugs network, and PS Sarah-Jane Tucker, the local police sergeant in the Stroud area, responded to a call involving a violent adult male armed with a knife and a long metal object on the roof of a residential outbuilding.
