Witness Appeal Following Burglary in Trowbridge

A man has been arrested following a fatal collision with a pedestrian in Upham Road, Swindon, this evening.

At approximately 5:40 PM, Wiltshire Police responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at the junction of Upham Road and South View Avenue. Tragically, the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, has been arrested and taken into custody for questioning. Upham Road remains closed as investigations continue.

Detective Superintendent Charlotte Tucker stated, “This is a tragic incident where a man has lost his life in a collision with a vehicle, and our thoughts are with his family at this devastating time. I can reassure the public that a thorough investigation is now ongoing, and we have arrested a man in connection with the incident. You will see an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance to our communities while enquiries continue. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to one of our officers.”
