A serving Metropolitan Police officer from Bromley has been charged with sexual assault, according to a statement released by the force.

Details of the Charge

PC Christopher Gudgeon, 41, who is attached to the Met’s Central South Basic Command Unit, was charged by postal requisition on July 9. The charge follows a report of a sexual assault that allegedly took place while Gudgeon was off-duty in 2022.

Internal Response

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that its directorate of professional standards is aware of the charge against Pc Gudgeon. The officer has been placed on restricted duties pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.

PC Christopher Gudgeon is scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on July 31 to face the charges.
