Emergency services responded to a disturbance at a property on Grand Parade, Brighton, at around 11 p.m. on Friday, August 23. Upon arrival, further information indicated that a chemical incident, reportedly involving ammonia, had taken place inside the address.
Fire and ambulance crews attended the scene alongside police officers to assist in evacuating the building. As a safety precaution, a temporary road closure was implemented between the junctions of Richmond Parade and Morley Street.
Three individuals, two men and a woman, who are all known to each other, were arrested in connection with the incident and taken to the hospital for treatment.
One of the men, a 32-year-old from Brighton, has since been discharged and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, criminal damage, and assault of an emergency worker. He remains in custody at this time.
The other two individuals remain in the hospital, though their injuries are not believed to be serious.

Emergency service crews have since made the area safe, and authorities have assured the public that there is no wider risk associated with the incident.
