Waltham Forest Teen Charged with Attempted Murder After Carnival Stabbing
18-Year-Old Arrested at Carnival Stabbing Scene
Rumarni Tuitt, 18, from Waltham Forest, has been formally charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. The teenager appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday and has been remanded to face trial at the Old Bailey on 26 September.
Violent Attack Shocks Carnival Crowd
The stabbing unfolded at 7.55pm on Monday, 26 August in Canal Way, W10, during a police operation at the local carnival. Officers rushed to the scene after an 18-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds, including a serious injury to his stomach.
Emergency services were quick to respond. Police gave lifesaving first aid before paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance arrived. The victim is currently in hospital in a stable but critical condition.
Police Warn Against Prejudicing Ongoing Case
Tuitt was arrested at the scene and held for questioning before Wednesday’s charge. Authorities have urged the media and public to avoid publishing any content that could prejudice court proceedings for this active case.
