Masked Thugs Hold Up Delivery Driver in Broad Daylight
Thames Valley Police are hunting witnesses after a brazen robbery in broad daylight shook the sleepy village of Dagnall, near Berkhamsted.
Three Masked Men Threaten Courier with Knife
The chilling attack happened just before 9:10am on Main Road North. A DPD delivery driver in his fifties was confronted by three balaclava-clad suspects dressed all in black.
Armed with a knife, the gang threatened the man before making off with several parcels stolen straight from his van.
Victim Escapes Injury but Left Traumatised
Detective Sergeant Katherine Peacock said: “This was an extremely frightening ordeal for the victim, who was just doing his job.”
While thankfully not physically harmed, the driver faced major psychological trauma from the terrifying encounter.
Police Plead for Dashcam and CCTV Footage
The trio fled in a getaway vehicle, but their masked faces have left officers with little to go on. Thames Valley Police are especially keen to hear from drivers with dashcam footage or residents with CCTV or doorbell cams that might have caught the robbery.
DS Peacock added: “We want to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious around Main Road North on Saturday morning.”
The incident highlights growing dangers delivery drivers face as online shopping surges.
