Police are urgently searching for the driver of a lorry involved in a fatal crash on the M25, which resulted in the death of a motorcyclist in his 40s. The collision occurred on Wednesday, September 26, between junctions 5 and 6, which links Kent and Surrey, around 12:30 PM.
The crash involved three vehicles: a blue Suzuki motorcycle, a silver Toyota Corolla, and a lorry. Kent Police have described the lorry as having a white cab, blue side curtains, and yellow sign writing. Officers believe the lorry left the scene of the collision, and they have released images of the vehicle as part of their investigation.
Emergency services, including ambulance crews, were dispatched to the scene, but the motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed, though his identity has not yet been released to the public.
Detective Inspector Pete Greaves, who is leading the investigation, emphasized the importance of locating the lorry driver. “We would particularly like to trace the owner of the lorry, who may not have been aware of the severity of the collision and who left the scene. We would urge the driver to contact us as soon as possible,” he said.
Police are also appealing to motorists who may have dashcam footage of the incident or of the vehicles involved prior to the crash to come forward. This footage could prove vital in determining the events leading up to the tragic collision.
