A man stopped by police in Greenwich has been charged with possessing child pornography and additional drug offences. The arrest occurred after police patrolling Trafalgar Road conducted a routine stop and check on the individual.
Following a search of the Police National Computer (PNC), officers discovered that the man was wanted for breaching a court order and failing to comply with the requirements of the Sex Offenders Register. He was promptly arrested with assistance from the Emergency Response Policing Team (ERPT) and taken to Lewisham Police Station.
Once in custody, the man was further charged with possession of Class B drugs.
Greenwich Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) shared the details of the arrest on social media platform X, stating: “While on patrol with PCSOs Lawton and Fenning on Trafalgar Road SE10, a male was stopped for a check. A PNC search showed he was wanted for Breach of Court Order and failing to notify the Sex Offenders Register. He was arrested with ERPT’s help and taken to Lewisham, where further charges for Class B possession were added.
The investigation remains ongoing as the man awaits further legal proceedings.
