Knife-Wielding Man Charged After Shoreham Standoff

Late Night Chaos in Shoreham

A 36-year-old man has been charged following a tense knife incident in Shoreham on the night of October 18. Police rushed to Kingsland Close at around 11:25pm after reports of a man acting erratically and brandishing a knife in public.

Swift Police Action

Officers quickly detained the man at the scene and took him to hospital for assessment. After his release the next day, David Chiswell from Kingsland Close was arrested.

Charged and Remanded in Custody

  • Chiswell faces charges of affray and possession of a knife in a public place.
  • He appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on October 21 and was remanded in custody.
  • His next court date is set for November 8.
