The victim of a fatal stabbing in North London has been named as 62-year-old Efthyia Constantinou. Efthyia was found at her residence in Enfield on Wednesday, October 30, and has now been publicly identified.
The incident unfolded after police received a call from an address on Westerham Avenue, Edmonton, shortly after 5 p.m. When officers from the Metropolitan Police arrived, they discovered Efthyia with severe stab injuries. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Zaneta Peto, also known as Maria Peto, aged 55 and residing on Charles Street in Enfield, has been charged with Efthyia’s murder. She appeared before Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, November 2.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee from the Specialist Crime Command commented, “Our sincerest condolences are offered to Efthyia’s family, friends, and the wider community who are so deeply saddened by her death. The investigation is at an early stage, but I can confirm that Zaneta was known to the victim and that we are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.”
Efthyia’s family is being supported by specially trained officers as they cope with this tragic loss.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, and no further suspects are being sought at this time.
