A man has been charged with murder after an 81-year-old woman was found dead in Bexleyheath.
Police launched an investigation on Friday, 15 November, after officers were called to an address on Dunwich Road at 8:22am following concerns about the safety of a woman. Upon arrival, officers and the London Ambulance Service found the victim, Carol James, with serious injuries. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Arrest and Charges
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has since been identified as Brian James, 81, of Dunwich Road, Bexleyheath. Mr. James has been charged with murder and is set to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 20 November.
Family Support
The victim has been formally identified as Carol James, also aged 81. Her family has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
