Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage Following Fatal Collision in Gillingham

Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision on the A2 London Road in Gillingham.

The incident occurred at around 11.45am on Tuesday 4 March 2025, between the junctions with Pump Lane and Bloors Lane. A silver Audi A6, which was travelling towards Rainham, was involved in a collision with a silver Vauxhall Astra heading in the opposite direction. Both vehicles subsequently struck separate, parked, white Ford Transit vans.

Emergency services, including patrols and the South East Coast Ambulance Service, attended the scene.

A passenger in the Vauxhall Astra, a man in his 80s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he sadly died on Saturday 8 March. The driver of the Audi also received medical treatment at hospital.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is now underway. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call the SCIU on 01622 798538, quoting reference 017/25. Alternatively, details can be sent via email to [email protected]. Dashcam footage can be uploaded directly via the following link: https:///kep.uk.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/sciu017-25.
