Tragic Crash on A2 London Road: Elderly Man Dies After Horrific Collision
Deadly Smash in Gillingham
Police are hunting witnesses and dashcam clips after a fatal crash on the A2 London Road in Gillingham. The smash happened just before noon on Tuesday 4 March 2025, between Pump Lane and Bloors Lane junctions.
A silver Audi A6 heading towards Rainham collided head-on with a silver Vauxhall Astra coming the other way. Both vehicles then crashed into parked white Ford Transit vans, causing chaos on the busy road.
Elderly Passenger Fatally Injured
Emergency teams, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene. An elderly man in his 80s, a passenger in the Vauxhall Astra, was seriously injured. Despite hospital treatment, he tragically died four days later on Saturday 8 March.
The Audi’s driver was also taken to hospital for treatment. Authorities are now piecing together the events that led to the deadly collision.
