Attack on Otley Road: Man Arrested

West Yorkshire Police rushed to Otley Road at 2:47pm after reports of a man armed with deadly weapons. At the scene, officers found two women badly wounded and a 38-year-old man with a self-inflicted injury. The man was arrested, and both a crossbow and firearm were seized.

Local residents are reeling but united. Headingley and Hyde Park Ward Councillor Tim Goodall said:

“Residents are shocked. I’m really feeling for anyone directly affected. When I was there yesterday evening it was quite a subdued atmosphere but today, people were stopping to chat and reassure each other.”

St Michael’s Church opened its doors for prayer services immediately after, with Bishop Arun Arora offering heartfelt support:

“We will continue to pray for those who were injured and those who witnessed the attack. We are thankful for the emergency services who attended the incident.”

Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerley warned:
