Quad Bike Seized After Causing Street Chaos in Harewood Grove

Police have seized a quad bike after it caused disruption in the streets of Harewood Grove last Thursday.

Officers from the East Neighbourhood Policing Team responded swiftly to reports of antisocial behaviour involving the quad bike, which had been seen driving dangerously and disturbing local residents.

Although the rider initially evaded officers, a search of the surrounding area led to the discovery of the quad bike hidden inside a disused garage nearby.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said:

Despite our best efforts, no one at the scene wanted to claim ownership of the quad bike.

The vehicle was found without a registration plate, and officers were unable to locate a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), raising suspicions about its legitimacy.

The quad bike has now been seized and will undergo a thorough inspection by the Stolen Vehicle Examiner to determine if it had previously been reported stolen.

Stronger Action on Illegal Vehicle Use

Police emphasized the importance of tackling illegal and antisocial vehicle use, which poses serious risks to public safety and disrupts communities.

A spokesperson added:

“We will continue to take action against the illegal use of off-road bikes and quads to ensure the safety and peace of our neighbourhoods.”

Local residents praised the police for their rapid response and efforts to restore order to Harewood Grove.

Anyone witnessing similar incidents is encouraged to report them to local police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
