Pervert Jailed for Assaulting Woman Asleep on Gatwick Flight
A 66-year-old man has been locked up after sexually assaulting a woman mid-flight to Gatwick. Momade Jussab, from Feltham, was found guilty of multiple sexual offences committed during a long-haul flight from Doha, Qatar.
Shocking Mid-Air Attack
The shocking incident happened on 28 September 2024, when the victim—a woman in her 20s—awoke to find Jussab assaulting her while she was asleep. She had no prior connection to him.
Bravely, she reported the attack to Sussex Police immediately after landing. Specially trained officers supported her throughout the investigation.
Swift Justice Served
Jussab was swiftly arrested and charged. A jury at Lewes Crown Court convicted him on all counts in March. On Sunday, 12 May, he was handed a six-and-a-half-year extended sentence, meaning he must serve at least two-thirds in jail before parole.
He has also been placed on the 1 indefinitely.
Victim’s Brave Words and Police Praise
“It has felt so hard and so traumatising to think that anyone would ever want to do that to me… The shock and disbelief at what I have experienced will never go away.”
Detective Inspector Darren Taylor of Sussex Police said:
“This was a shocking case and a crime which has a long-term impact on the victim… We are pleased that a dangerous offender is now behind bars.”
Sussex Police continue to urge victims of sexual offences to come forward, promising they will be supported and taken seriously.
