Swanscombe Man Charged with Multiple Child Sex Offences Dating Back to 1970s

 

A Swanscombe man has been charged with a string of historical child sex offences spanning more than three decades, Kent Police has confirmed.

Suspect Accused of Abusing Children Over 30-Year Period

Kevin Swaisland, aged 66, of Childs Crescent, Swanscombe, was arrested on 15 May following a detailed investigation by Kent Police. The offences are alleged to have occurred between the 1970s and early 2000s, involving multiple child victims.

Swaisland has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and taking indecent photographs of children.

Court Proceedings Underway

The suspect appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 17 May, where he was remanded in custody. He is next scheduled to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, 13 June.

Kent Police said enquiries remain ongoing and urged members of the public to come forward with any relevant information.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said:

“Our investigation into these serious offences is ongoing, and we are keen to speak with anyone who may have information that could assist us.”
