Two Men Rescued After Fishing Boat Sinks Off Shoreham
Dramatic Sea Rescue
Two fishermen were pulled to safety early Saturday morning after their boat suddenly sank three miles off the Sussex coast. The alarm was raised just after 7:10am when the 17-foot fishing vessel began rapidly taking on water.
Seconds From Disaster
The crew of Shoreham RNLI lifeboat rushed to the scene and rescued the men with only seconds to spare. One survivor told reporters, “We both have children and it might have been a different story for our families if the lifeboat crew hadn’t been there.”
RNLI Urges Caution
The RNLI once again warns all boat users to carry proper safety equipment and have a reliable way to alert the coastguard before heading out to sea. Their swift response saved lives in what could have been a tragic ending.
