Teen Charged in Old Kent Road Fatal Stabbing
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Yeray Sanchez-Morales, 17, following a fatal stabbing on Old Kent Road, London. He is the fifth suspect to be charged in connection with the brutal attack.
The unnamed teen faces charges including murder, grievous bodily harm, and possession of a bladed article. He is set to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 11 September.
Stabbing Shocks Old Kent Road
Police were called to Old Kent Road shortly before 11pm on Wednesday, 27 August, after reports of a stabbing. Two 17-year-old boys were found with serious stab wounds.
Yeray Sanchez-Morales was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition but tragically died a week later on 3 September. The second boy has since been discharged from hospital.
Four More Teens Charged
- A 15-year-old was charged with murder, grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon on 4 September.
- A 16-year-old was arrested on 5 September and charged the following day with the same offences.
- Two more 17-year-olds were charged on 7 September.
The 15-year-old appeared at the Old Bailey, while the other four made their appearances at a Magistrates’ Court on 8 September.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Police are urgently calling for witnesses to come forward, especially drivers who may have dashcam footage from the busy area outside McDonald’s on Old Kent Road.
