St Albans Man Jailed for Child Abuse Conspiracy
Eamon Goodfellow, 50, from St Albans, was arrested on June 14, 2018, after National Crime Agency (NCA) officers seized his electronic devices. Bombshell chat logs revealed he actively sought children under 13 for horrific abuse.
Chilling Chats With Foreign Facilitators
Goodfellow’s conversations uncovered his coordination with facilitators in the Philippines and Romania. He instructed them to perform specific sexual acts on young children and live-stream the abuse. The vile acts were paid for by Goodfellow, who showed a disturbing obsession with exploiting vulnerable kids thousands of miles away.
Justice Served: Prison and Lifetime Sex Offender Status
After a six-day trial at St Albans Crown Court, Goodfellow was found guilty of two counts of attempting to cause sexual exploitation of a child under 13. He was sentenced today to four years and nine months in prison. He will also remain on the sex offenders register for life and faces a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
NCA Warns of Growing Financially Motivated Child Abuse Networks
Goodfellow made it very clear in these chat logs that he has sexual interest in young children,” said Martin Ludlow of the National Crime Agency. “He was assisted by facilitators whose motive is to make money.”
“This type of financially motivated crime is a major threat to the UK. The NCA works with international partners, including the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Centre (PICACC), to protect children and disrupt abuse networks.”
