Dramatic photos capture two fearless Kent Police officers sprinting past a caravan engulfed in flames and exploding gas cylinders to rescue a trapped family in Maidstone in the early hours of Friday morning.
Brave Officers Spot Blaze, Race to Rescue
The quick-thinking officers were nearby on a missing person search when drone footage spotted the raging caravan fire. Without hesitation, they dashed towards the inferno, risking their lives as the caravan erupted into a fireball, trapping residents inside their homes before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters Bring Blaze Under Control
- The fire broke out on Durham Close just after 1am on 18th November 2022.
- Kent Police response officers ran headlong into danger to assist those trapped.
- Two Maidstone fire crews deployed hose reels and jets, swiftly controlling the blaze.
The caravan was utterly destroyed, and part of the nearby property suffered smoke damage. Flames were visible from a great distance, causing widespread alarm.
Investigation Underway
Kent Police and Kent Fire officials have launched an investigation into the fire’s cause. Both agencies have been approached for comment.
