Officers are investigating three reports of suspicious behaviour and an attempted burglary on Friday 10 February 2023.

However, they have acted to reassure residents after concerns about more serious offences were circulated on social media over the weekend.

Chief Inspector Chris Pearson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We have been made aware of a number of concerns about aggravated burglaries occurring in the Bakersfield area where people have forced their way into homes.

“I’d like to reassure residents that no incidents of this nature have been recorded on our systems as being reported to us over recent days.

“We are, however, aware of four other incidents on Friday and have increased patrols in the area as a result.

“If anyone has any concerns I’d urge them to speak to an officer.

“We also want to hear from anyone with information, CCTV or dash-cam footage which could help with our inquiries into these incidents.”

Officers are investigating a burglary in Dovedale Road, where a lock was cut to allow an offender to access a rear garden but no items were stolen.

They are also carrying out inquiries after up to four men and a woman were reportedly acting suspiciously in Ferndale Road and knocking on doors to ask for money at around 9.15pm on 10 February.

Reports were also received about a woman knocking on doors in Langdale Road and a gate being kicked open in Ipswich Circus.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 799 of 10 February 2023, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
