Two Thieves Jailed for Ford Fiesta Crime Spree Across Kent

A pair of crooks have been locked up for nicking at least eight Ford Fiestas across Kent in just five months. Harley Webb, 36, and Callum Burren, 24, targeted vehicles from July to November 2024, stealing them from outside homes and car parks in Tunbridge Wells, Gravesend, Ramsgate, and other towns.

How They Cracked the Keyless Cars

The criminal duo used savvy high-tech tricks to break into keyless Ford Fiestas. They hacked the cars using an on-board diagnostics (OBD) tool to bypass the security systems. Police later discovered their chop shop in an industrial unit near Bedgebury Pinetum, where stolen cars were stripped for parts.

Police Smash the Theft Ring

Webb was caught red-handed at the chop shop on 15 November, surrounded by stolen cars, vehicle parts, and even a number plate forgery machine. Burren was arrested soon after. Both were charged and sentenced to prison without delay.

Sentencing and Police Advice

At Maidstone Crown Court, Webb pled guilty to conspiracy to steal and was locked up for 22 months. Burren, who claimed he acted under duress, admitted multiple charges including driving without a licence and was sentenced to 15 months inside.

Detective Constable Mike Kingwell said: “Webb and Burren caused a huge spike in Ford Fiesta thefts. These cars, no longer made, are a goldmine for parts thieves. They used smart methods across several towns, causing misery and big financial losses.

“We’ve shut down their ring, but we warn Fiesta owners to boost security—use crook locks, wheel clamps, and tracking devices. These steps really help stop crooks and recover stolen vehicles.”
