A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man who was stabbed in Camden earlier this year, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.

The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised a charge of murder against Dylan Gan, 21, of Lithos Road, Camden, in connection with the death of 25-year-old Suleyman Nuh.

Police were called at around 4.27pm on Thursday, 29 January, to reports of a stabbing in Alvanley Gardens, Camden. Emergency services attended and Mr Nuh was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.

Doctors later pronounced his life extinct on Friday, 6 February. His life-support machines had been switched off on Monday, 9 February, after it was confirmed he would not recover.

Gan is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 2 March, where the murder charge will be formally put to him.

The charge follows an earlier court appearance on Sunday, 1 February, when Gan had been charged with attempted murder while the victim remained in hospital. Following Mr Nuh’s death, that charge has now been upgraded to murder.

Gan also faces additional charges of possession of a knife in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and possession of a Class B drug. He appeared at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 February in relation to those matters and was remanded into custody.

In a tribute released through police, Mr Nuh’s family described him as a much-loved and sociable man.

They said:

“Suleyman was loved by everyone around him, he was incredibly social and eager to lend a helping hand.
He will forever be remembered.”

Officers continue to support his family as court proceedings move forward.
