Two men from London have been sentenced for supplying class A drugs in Crawley after a police raid uncovered large amounts of drugs and cash. The operation, part of the County Lines Intensification Week, was carried out by West Sussex Police who found drugs concealed in a golf ball-sized package during a warrant execution.
Major Drug Seizure In Crawley
During the warrant, officers witnessed a package containing drug wraps thrown from a window. Inside the property, further drugs and nearly £6,000 in cash were seized, disrupting the local supply chain.
Countywide Crackdown Success
West Sussex Police, working with partner agencies, completed ten warrants across the county. The operation resulted in the seizure of £12,000 in cash, 17 phones, 12 knives, and a vehicle. A total of 37 arrests were made while safeguarding 26 children and 20 vulnerable adults.
Defendants And Charges
Ali Abdiqadir, 25, of Brent, London, and Bashir Mohammed, 27, also of Brent, were charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, money laundering, and possession of cannabis. They pled guilty on 12 March.
Sentencing Outcomes
At Lewes Crown Court on 27 April, Abdiqadir received a two-year prison sentence. Mohammed was given a two-year suspended sentence with conditions including 100 hours of unpaid work, 10 rehabilitation sessions, and a £187 surcharge.
