Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating a serious single-vehicle collision on Mill Hill, Lelant, near St Ives that left an 18-year-old woman with life-changing injuries. The crash happened at around 1:15am on Thursday 2 July 2026. Emergency services, including Southwest Ambulance Service, quickly responded to the scene.

Serious Injuries Reported

The crash resulted in three teenagers being injured. An 18-year-old woman was seriously hurt and rushed to hospital for treatment. Two other teen passengers sustained minor injuries.

Drink Driving Arrest Made

An 18-year-old man from Penzance was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink driving. He has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.

Road Closure And Police Appeal

Mill Hill was closed temporarily to allow officers from the Roads Policing Team to carry out a thorough investigation. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward to assist with ongoing inquiries.
