Gun Threats Spark Dramatic Early Morning Police Raid in South East London
Police were called to a Plumstead home at 9.10pm on Sunday, 10 January after a man known to the occupants made chilling threats.
The suspect reportedly brandished a firearm during a tense social media exchange, sparking an urgent manhunt.
Intense Police Operation Leads to Hotel Arrest in Deptford
Officers quickly tracked the 25-year-old to a hotel in Deptford. At around 5am, Met firearms officers stormed the suspect’s room and arrested him on charges of threats to kill and firearms offences.
Thankfully, no shots were fired and no one was harmed during the dramatic arrest.
Multiple Firearms Seized and Under Forensic Investigation
Police recovered two suspected handguns and a shotgun from the hotel room. All weapons are now being examined for forensic evidence.
The man remains in custody at a south east London police station as inquiries continue.
Detective Constable Chris Barrett praised the swift action: “This was some excellent work by all those involved. As a result of the prompt and courageous action by officers, three suspected firearms have been seized, no one was injured and the suspect arrested.
“This case shows the dangerous and unexpected challenges police face at any time, and the professionalism of the officers who deal with them.”
