Man in 20s Critically Injured After Being Deliberately Hit by Car in Hornchurch
Targeted Attack Shocks Local Community
Police believe a man in his twenties was deliberately struck by a car on Latimer Drive, Hornchurch, after the vehicle failed to stop at the scene. Officers say the driver intentionally drove at the victim in the early hours of Saturday, 25 June.
Crime Scene and Road Closures
Roads around the area remain closed as the Metropolitan Police set up a crime scene. Emergency services rushed to the incident at around 12:45am. The injured man was taken to hospital with critical injuries, and his next of kin has been informed.
Ongoing Investigation and Police Appeal
So far, no arrests have been made. Police are carrying on with their investigation and have increased patrols to reassure residents. A Met spokesperson said:
“Police were called after reports of a man injured following a deliberate vehicle collision. Officers and London Ambulance Service responded promptly. The car did not stop at the scene.”
“Investigations into the circumstances continue, and we urge anyone with information to come forward.”
