At 10:10 a.m. this Saturday, chaos erupted on High Road in South Woodford when a car slammed into a building. Emergency services raced to the scene, including the London Air Ambulance. Police confirmed no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Driver Dies at Scene Despite Emergency Efforts
The driver, a man yet to be identified, was tragically pronounced dead at 10:41 a.m. Paramedics battled to save him, with eyewitnesses describing intense CPR and chest compressions. One local, Claire Summers, said:
“I was walking my dog on the other side of the road when emergency services arrived. Sadly, it looked like the driver didn’t make it. They were doing everything to save him.”
