Deadly Crash in East London as Car Smashes Into Building

A man tragically died this morning after crashing his car into a building on High Road, South Woodford.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

Police were called at around 10:10 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, following reports of a car collision. Officers, London Ambulance Service, and London Air Ambulance quickly responded.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:41 a.m. Police confirmed the victim’s identity is yet to be released and are working to notify the next of kin.

Witness Describes Desperate Lifesaving Efforts

Eyewitness Claire Summers was walking her dog nearby when she saw paramedics fighting to save the driver. “CPR and chest compressions were being administered,” she said, adding her belief the driver did not survive.

Investigation Underway, Drivers Advised to Avoid Area

Police confirmed no other vehicles were involved and said investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. Road closures remain in place, with drivers urged to find alternate routes.
