Tragic Sidcup Crash: Biker Dies After Suspected Collision with Traffic Island
Shock gripped Sidcup yesterday evening when police found a badly injured motorcyclist on North Cray Road at around 6.30pm. Despite desperate efforts by officers and emergency crews, the rider – believed to be in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Rush to Scene, Provide First Aid
Officers on patrol were first to come across the injured man and quickly administered first aid before ambulance and air ambulance teams arrived. The London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance also attended, but sadly could not save him.
His next of kin has been notified,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed.
No Other Vehicles Involved, Crash Under Investigation
Police currently believe no other vehicles were involved. It’s suspected the motorcyclist collided with a traffic island.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit based in Catford has launched an urgent inquiry into the fatal smash.
