Two Dead After Daylight Stabbing and Hit-and-Run in London
Tragedy struck on Chippenham Road, W9, just after 9am on Monday, 24 January, when police responded to reports of a stabbing. Officers, paramedics, and fire crews rushed to the scene where a 43-year-old woman was found with stab wounds, and a 41-year-old man was discovered having been hit by a car.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have informed their next of kin and are arranging post-mortem examinations. Early investigations suggest the victims knew each other.
Driver Arrested for Murder
A 26-year-old man, the driver of the vehicle involved, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command described the attack as “terrible” and said it unfolded in broad daylight on a busy street.
“It appears that a number of members of the public bravely tried to intervene to stop the attack,” DCI Eastwood said.
“We are not aware of any links between the arrested man and the two deceased, nor are we currently looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
