Teen Arrested Over Hackney Murder
A 16-year-old boy was arrested in the early hours of Friday, 8 December, on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as the investigation heats up.

Police Ramp Up Patrols in Clapton and Hackney
Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, overseeing policing in Hackney and Tower Hamlets, said: “This arrest shows the progress we’re making. I hope it reassures the local community that we’re fully committed to catching those responsible for Lianne’s murder.”
He added, “We’re grateful for the community’s support so far—it’s been vital. You’ll see more specialist and local officers patrolling Clapton and wider Hackney in the coming days to prevent further violence and support faith communities during Hanukkah. Residents with concerns should speak directly to our officers.”
Deadly Shooting on Vine Close
- Police were called at 6:28pm on Tuesday, 5 December, after reports of a shooting outside a property on Vine Close, E5.
- Officers and paramedics from the Ambulance Service responded immediately.
- Three people were found with gunshot wounds.
- Tragically, 42-year-old Lianne Gordon was pronounced dead at the scene.
- A 20-year-old man and another 16-year-old were hospitalised but later discharged.
Lianne’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist family liaison officers as the investigation continues.
