Two-Year-Old Critically Injured in Acton Moped Smash

A toddler is fighting for life after being hit by a moped in Acton. Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage to crack the case.

Accident at Busy Acton Junction

The crash happened at 6.34pm on Tuesday, 8 June, at the junction of The Vale on Uxbridge Road and Agnes Road, W3. The little girl was crossing the road with her family at the traffic lights when the moped struck her, according to police.

Emergency teams, including London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene. The toddler was rushed to hospital and remains in critical condition. Her family have been informed.

Moped Rider Arrested on Suspicion of Dangerous Driving

Detective Sergeant Nush Puvitharan from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Some road users waiting at the lights would have witnessed the crash or recorded it on dash-cam. We urge anyone with information to come forward. Your footage could be vital in piecing together exactly what happened.”

The 19-year-old moped rider stayed at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs. He remains in custody.
