Early Christmas Cheer Lands Poole Driver in Hot Water
A Poole motorist decked their car out with full-on Christmas decorations weeks before December. But instead of festive cheers, the flashy display caught the attention of police – and not in a good way.
Festive Flair Gets a Frosty Reception from Police
While on patrol, Sergeants Sam and Matt spotted the glittering ride and pulled it over. The driver was slapped with a warning for breaking traffic laws and risking road safety with unauthorised festive lights.
Police Issue Strict Warning on Illegal Car Lights
“The driver was stopped and given words of advice about the traffic offences he was committing and also reminded about the seriousness of celebrating Christmas before December. Displaying a red light to the front of a vehicle, or other colours to the rear that aren’t listed in the Road Traffic Regulations, is an offence and can land you with a £50 fine. Whilst this vehicle might look ‘sleigh’, the actions of this driver could land him on the naughty list.”
Dorset Police have made it crystal clear: decking out your car with unauthorised festive lights isn’t just cheeky – it’s against the law. A £50 fine could be the price of early Christmas spirit gone too far.
