West Midlands Fire Service sprang into action after being alerted at 2.03pm on Thursday, 20 March. They scrambled five fire engines plus two 4×4 brigade response vehicles, with the first crew arriving in just four minutes.
Fire Rages Through Roof Space
The blaze engulfed a mid-terraced house and had already spread into the roof by the time firefighters arrived. Wearing breathing apparatus, crews battled the inferno using hose reels and a covering jet to get the flames under control.
“We were alerted at 2.03pm on Thursday 20 March to a house fire on Warwick Road, Sparkhill, Birmingham. Five fire engines and two 4×4 brigade response vehicles were initially mobilised, the first crew arriving within four minutes,” confirmed a West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson.
No Injuries but Investigation Underway
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed no patients needed treatment at the scene despite the huge blaze. The cause remains unknown. Fire investigators will launch a full probe once the fire is out and the building is safe to enter.
