London Police Launch Manhunt After Shocking Homophobic Attack Outside Clapham Nightclub

Detectives in London are hunting a knifeman after a violent homophobic attack outside a nightclub in Clapham left two men injured and shaken. Police have released a photo of their prime suspect and are urging the public to come forward.

Knife Attack Outside Two Brewers Bar

The terrifying assault happened around 10:15pm on Sunday, 13 August, outside the Two Brewers venue in Clapham. Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were standing outside when the attacker confronted them. Armed with a knife, he launched a brutal assault before fleeing the scene.

Both victims were rushed to hospital but thankfully their injuries were not life-threatening and they have since been discharged.

Police Urge Witnesses to Help Crack the Case

The Central South Command Unit detectives released an image of the suspect caught on CCTV at the scene. Detective Chief Inspector Jivan Saib said: “It is vital that we identify and locate him as soon as possible.” He added that witness statements and CCTV footage have already been gathered but the investigation is ongoing.

LGBT+ Community and Police Unite for Justice

Local authorities and the LGBT+ community have rallied together following the attack. PC Hayley Jones, LGBT+ Community Liaison Officer for Lambeth and Southwark, said: “We understand some people from the LGBT+ community may not have the confidence to speak to police. My role is to provide a dedicated point of contact to support the community and advise on investigations where homophobia or transphobia is involved.”
