Four Family Members Brutally Stabbed to Death in South East London
A horrific triple-generation murder has rocked Bermondsey after four family members were stabbed to death at a £650,000 home on Delaford Road. Police have confirmed all victims were known to each other.
Grandmother Dolet Hill Among Victims
Among the dead is grandmother Dolet Hill, described by relatives as a “lovely, lovely person” who had just beaten cancer. Dolet worked as a housekeeper at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. Her long-term partner, Denton Burke, a Westminster council street cleaner, was also found dead at the scene.
“She was a wonderful person who had just got over cancer,” a family member said.
Three Generations Lost: Nurse and Granddaughter Also Dead
Dolet’s daughter, community nurse Tanysha Drummonds, and granddaughter Samantha Drummonds were among those murdered. A close family friend explained that Tanysha, Samantha, and Joshua Jerome Derriviere Jacques – who police arrested at the scene – had attended a family gathering at the property on Sunday evening.
Relatives say Joshua, who lived on the outskirts of Lewisham with his girlfriend, also brutally murdered his partner in the home. He was tasered and arrested by armed police after reportedly threatening officers with a knife.
Police Storm Scene in Early Hours
Armed officers forced entry at around 1.45am on Monday after a concerned nurse, Tracey Henry, raised the alarm when she couldn’t contact her mum, Dolet. Police used a battering ram to enter the property and discovered the four victims with stab wounds, all pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts.
The area around the property remains cordoned off with metal fencing, while specialist police and crime scene officers comb the grounds for clues. The suspect is in custody at a south London police station as the investigation continues.
A Met Police spokesperson said:
“Officers attended and forced entry, finding four people with stab injuries. Sadly, all were pronounced dead at the scene. A man is in custody on suspicion of murder. Detectives are investigating and contacting next of kin.”
The tragic murders have left the local community in shock as police continue to piece together the chilling circumstances behind this brutal family massacre.
