Five Arrested and £2 Million Worth of Cocaine Seized in Major Drugs Bust
In a major crackdown, five suspects have been arrested and over £2 million worth of cocaine seized in a joint operation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) and Metropolitan Police Service (MPS).
Two Men Nabbed as Police Find 20 Kilos of Cocaine in Gravesend
On the evening of 14 April, officers from the Organised Crime Partnership (OCP) swooped on Gatwick Road, Gravesend, Kent. They arrested two men, aged 32 and 29, on suspicion of Class A drug supply after discovering 20 kilos of cocaine hidden in a van.
A third man fled the scene and is now wanted by police in connection with the case.
Further Raids Lead to More Cocaine and £300,000 Cash Haul
Police then searched a nearby Gatwick Road address, recovering an additional 4 kilos of cocaine. A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drug supply.
Another raid at a property on Rochester Road uncovered around £300,000 in cash. A 51-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were arrested for money laundering.
Police Warn Fugitive and Urge Public to Speak Up
NCA’s John Coles said: “Taking this amount of class A drugs off the streets is a significant result for the OCP as we know cocaine fuels gang violence and exploitation.”
“Seizing drugs and cash disrupts organised crime groups, stopping them from ploughing profits back into crime.”
“Our investigation is ongoing, and we’re still hunting one man linked to these offences. We urge him to hand himself in, or anyone with info to contact Crimestoppers.”
All five suspects remain in custody and are being questioned by NCA and MPS officers.
