Massive Police Raid Nets Four Suspects in High-Stakes Organised Crime Crackdown

A whopping 46 officers teamed up to swoop on multiple addresses in a dramatic crackdown linked to a notorious crime gang. The haul? Clothes tied to crimes, mobile phones, and a stash of Class A and B drugs.

Operation Fujita Targets Ruthless Gang Behind Brazen Robberies

These raids were part of Operation Fujita, a no-nonsense probe aimed at nabbing a gang believed responsible for two shocking high-level offences.

  • First incident: Early morning smash-and-grab at a Regent Street clothing store on 5 January, where suspects smashed windows with a sledgehammer and made off in a BMW.
  • Second incident: Armed robbery of a cash security van at Cricklewood Broadway on 7 February. The gang’s escape car, the same BMW, was stopped by a brave member of the public driving at them.

The gang’s BMW was briefly kept in NW8 before being moved around, each time sporting cloned number plates in a cunning attempt to shake off police tails.

Four Arrested in Camden and Kensington

  • 39-year-old man in Delancey Street, Camden, suspected of conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary.
  • 28-year-old woman in Delancey Street, Camden, suspected of conspiracy to conceal/disguise criminal property.
  • 44-year-old man in North Gower Street, Camden, suspected of conspiracy to commit robbery.
  • 33-year-old man in Westbourne Park Road, Kensington and Chelsea, suspected of conspiracy to commit robbery.

All are currently held in central London police stations pending further investigation.

Detective Sergeant Vanessa Calafat of the Met’s Flying Squad said: “Today’s arrests are the result of a complex investigation by a team of officers who have diligently trawled through hours of CCTV and made countless calls and enquiries. Identifying and apprehending organised criminals and stopping them from conducting their illicit activities within our communities remains our primary objective.”
