Teen Stabbed to Death in Birmingham City Centre

Police have named the 17-year-old stabbed to death in Victoria Square, Birmingham. Muhammad Hassam Ali tragically lost his life after the attack on 20 January.

Family Appeal for Justice

Muhammad’s grieving family have released a photo of their beloved son and asked for privacy during this devastating time. Officers continue to support them while hunting down his killer.

Police Hunt Killer, No Links to Gangs

Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage and investigating leads. They say Muhammad’s death is not gang-related. Detective Inspector Michelle Thurgood said:

“This is a tragic case of a young man being killed in what appears to be mistaken identity. We are still trying to establish the motive and urge anyone in the area around 3.30pm on 20 January to come forward.”

“If you have photos or videos near The River statue by the Council House, please get in touch. Your evidence could be vital.”
