Detectives have arrested an 18-year-old following a violent assault in Hillingdon that left a man dead.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford confirmed a murder probe is underway after a 43-year-old man died in hospital, hours after being attacked on Dawley Avenue, Uxbridge, on Monday night, 4 March.
“We have launched a murder investigation after a 43-year-old man died in hospital following an assault in Uxbridge in the evening of Monday, 4 March,” Woodsford said.
Suspect Arrested as Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Police arrested an 18-year-old in Derbyshire on Tuesday, 5 March. He remains in custody and is set to be transferred to a London police station.
Woodsford reassured locals and the victim’s family that officers are working round the clock. She also urged anyone with information to come forward.
“Our investigation is in its early stages and I am keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything out of the ordinary. Please get in touch with police or Crimestoppers,” she said.
Emergency Services Called to Scene in Uxbridge
- Police and London Ambulance Service rushed to Dawley Avenue shortly before 8:10pm on Monday, 4 March.
- Victim was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries.
- Family has been informed; formal ID pending.
- A special post-mortem is planned for later this week.
