Arson Horror Rocks Golders Green’s Jewish Community

Early Monday, a shocking blaze ripped through several ambulances belonging to a Jewish volunteer rescue group outside a Golders Green synagogue in North London. The fire erupted after masked attackers set the vehicles on fire in a brutal antisemitic hate crime.

Flames soared into the night sky, waking locals with loud explosions. Dozens of firefighters scrambled to control the inferno while nearby residents were evacuated for safety.

Community Outraged at Direct Attack on Jewish Lifeline

Local Charlie Richards heard “multiple explosions” — believed to be gas canisters inside the ambulances detonating. Four of Hatzola’s six ambulances were destroyed in this calculated attack, said Hatzola Northwest chairman Shloimie Richman.

“Obviously we have concerns that this is a direct attack on the Jewish community,”

Golders Green is a hub for London’s vibrant Jewish and Orthodox Jewish life, packed with synagogues, schools, and kosher shops. Locals Anita Zadeh and Gedale Weinberg voiced their shock and fear over the arson rampage.

“It’s a terrible, terrible act what happened… Why is it happening to us? We’re living in scary times,” said Weinberg. “There should be more police patrols here because this area is the heart of London’s Jewish community,” added Zadeh.
