An officer was rushed to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries after a savage assault on High Street in the early hours of Monday, 18 July 2022.
Verbal Row Sparks Violence
Before the attack, the victim had been at a takeaway on Commercial Road, where a heated verbal exchange took place between the officer and the suspect.
