Man, 56, Arrested For Murder After Woman Found Dead in South Wales Home

Tragedy in Cefn Cribwr

A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 48-year-old woman was discovered dead at a house in Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend, South Wales.

Police were called to Bryn Terrace just after 9:15pm on Friday, April 18, following concerns for the welfare of two people inside the property.

Suspect Detained at the Scene

Officers found the woman inside the home and pronounced her dead at the scene. The suspect, a local man from Pyle, less than two miles away, was also inside the house and was immediately detained.

He remains in police custody as detectives continue their investigation.

Investigation Underway, No Further Suspects

Detective Chief Inspector Lianne Rees confirmed the woman’s death is being treated as suspicious but reassured the public that no other suspects are being sought.

Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the woman who has died,” said DCI Rees. “We are continuing inquiries and providing support to the next of kin during this difficult time.”

Forensics teams remain at the scene collecting evidence.
