Rain-Soaked Police Nab Notorious Fugitive After Daring Chase
A relentless team of police officers in plain clothes caught a slippery suspect wanted for recall to prison and knife possession, ending his desperate bid to escape.
Fugitive Makes Daring Escape Attempt, But Police Close In
The Radford Road Operation Reacher team tracked the man down to a property in Bobbers Mill. When spotted, he leapt out of a window and took off.
In a frantic dash, the suspect vaulted spiked fences and crashed through gardens trying to lose his pursuers. He even hid in bushes and sprinted across fields to evade capture.
Community Officers Help Pin Down Desperate Suspect
Just when it seemed the fugitive might slip away, council community protection officers spotted him. They guided the Reacher team to where he was hiding in undergrowth. The suspect was promptly arrested and taken into custody.
Sergeant Praises Police Grit and Teamwork Despite ‘Monsoon-Like’ Weather
“Despite conditions that could only be described as ‘monsoon-like,’ the wanted suspect tried to evade capture by vaulting spiked fences and running through several gardens,” said Sergeant Mark Westlake.
“Everyone was drenched through to the skin but that didn’t dampen their enthusiasm. The dedication and determination shown by all involved was exceptional. It’s a brilliant example of how multiple police teams can work together to get results.”
