Murder Probe Launched After Fatal Van Crash in Little Clacton

Police have launched a murder investigation after a deadly collision involving a man and a van in Little Clacton. The chaos unfolded just after 11pm on Friday, 7 February, when emergency services were called to The Street following reports of a crash.

Detectives are treating the victim’s death as murder. Witnesses say a fight broke out near The Blacksmiths pub before the fatal crash. The van involved is described as a grey or silver Ford Transit, bearing writing on its side.

There are reports the van also hit a car at the scene before fleeing the area towards Morrisons and Tesco.

Suspect Arrested After Van Flees Crime Scene

Shortly after the incident, police arrested a 41-year-old man from Clacton on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He remains in custody as investigations continue.

The van has been recovered, and part of The Street remains cordoned off with the closure expected to last into the afternoon.
