Woman, 89, Found Dead in Croydon Home – Murder Probe Underway
Police have launched a murder investigation after an 89-year-old woman was found dead with stab wounds in a Croydon house.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
At 9.20pm on Tuesday, 21 June, the Ambulance Service called police to a residential address on Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath. Officers and paramedics arrived quickly, but the elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Man Arrested as Investigation Heats Up
Police arrested a man in his 30s at a separate Croydon address shortly after the discovery. He remains in custody. It’s believed the victim and the suspect knew each other.
Family Notified, Public Appeal Launched
The woman’s family has been informed and is receiving specialist support. A formal identification and post-mortem will take place in due course.
